Team Performance – Building Power through Empathy
Ever wonder what they really meant when they said, “Be the ball!”? This program will help you understand just how much power is in those words. Alignment with your objective is great. Clarity of purpose is great. Goal-setting is great. But that’s just the beginning. That’s the “mind-set”. What about the “heart-set”? Empathy is the process of connecting so deeply with the work – whatever work you’re doing – that you can actually feel all the “other” components of the job – anything and everything that is not “you”. In this workshop, we’ll explore some unusual terrain; terrain that can enhance peak team performance through the development of deep empathy. People, processes, objects – they’re all connected to you as you engage your assignment. Empathy is the skill of feeling what the “other” feels. When you enter the realm of empathy, you begin to feel what’s not working, and what you can do to facilitate a better feeling in every “other” around you. You can begin to feel the presence (or absence) of resonance and harmony. And harnessing resonance taps into enormous power.
Whether you are an athlete, artist, or engineer; whether you’re a coach, a manager, an individual contributor, or a member of a working team, this program will help you realize a new level of performance in any group endeavor. If you’re a team leader, this program will help your team reach new heights of cooperation, productivity, and inspiration. You’ll all work better, together.
Building Power through Empathy is available as an afternoon or evening workshop, with ongoing team and individual exercises if desired.
Building Rhythm, Finding Voice: Power and Expression with a Beat
Even in the womb, we’re musical beings. We hear the rhythmic beat of the mother’s heart. We all, in our DNA, are musical, rhythmic beings. We’re made up of vibrating matter and resonant energy. Mystics have talked about “the Music of the Spheres” for as long as we’ve told stories. Making music is fun, relaxing, and stimulating to mind and body, and we’re all “wired for sound”. We will guide your group through fun, invigorating, and creative “play” that will have you making (joyful) noise together. It’s a great bonding experience that is both gentle and grounding. Music makes the world go ’round – and life is more fun with a soundtrack. Get your team drumming, rattling, ringing, and singing. Then watch for the healthy glow that emerges from the whole group. The buzz will last for weeks.
Sessions can last 45 minutes to 2 hours.
Suitable for teams and eclectic groups. Minimum of 12 participants required. (More is better)
